The format of the COVID Vaccine Programme is almost complete. Here's what we know now...
- The vaccine offered will be either the Pfizer or Moderna Vaccine.
- Patients will receive 2 doses one month apart.
- The first group of patients will be the over 85s: All over 85s in the practice have been informed.
- The second group to be vaccinated are the 80-84 year olds. This group has also been contacted. This group will be vaccinated 2 weeks after the first group.
- Vaccination clinics will run every 2 weeks for patients over 70 years old, starting with >85, 80-84, 75-79, 70-74.
- Patients under 70 are not included in this vaccination programme.
- Patients will only be vaccinated at the clinic. The vaccines are too fragile to move from site of delivery. Patients with mobility problems will be identified prior to the clinic.
- The location, time and date of the vaccination clinics will be announced next week.
