Dear Patients, I am writing this with huge regret, I know some of you 30 years. However the practice is closing November 10th. Dr Hynes would have taken over the medical card list but this is uncertain until next February March, Its too long for me to keep the practice open and pay all the bills . Please Rest assured I have all your medical records and can forward them directly to you or a new GP. There are two practice is recommend Dr Torun 59 A Old Bawn way tel 01 9602244 and Dr Maria Pilar Gladon Blesa on Belgard road .
I will log on each week to watch out for requests for records and forward to you or a new practice .
Due to illness I stepped down In May 2023 , and have tried to keep the practice going despite the Medical Card Practice temporarily moved to Glenview, Dr Hynes did not have a GMS Licence to act during my absence so they moved it to Glenview . While unwell I am now more challenged due to the upset of closure and not saying good bye to you wonderful Human Beings . Last week I decided to resign, I am almost 61 !! . I will miss you all so much , you are the best bunch of folks , and I learnt from you over the years with your nuggets of wisdom . I took my job full on wanted the best for you and no stone unturned when you were unwell . I sincerely loved working in Tallaght , As the first female GP here and then always wanting to make a difference helping those who were unheard or struggling

Tallaght Medical Practice established in 1994, is continuing to expand. We welcome registration of new patietns and families, please email us at tallaghtmedicalpractice@gmail.com for a registration form , or call to practice.
Vaccine Clinics commence Monday afternoons from 2.30 to 3.30 pm and Thursday 12 to 1 pm from September 26th for Covid boosters phase 4 and flu vaccine for winter 2022 commence. The flu vaccines at first are for this is for patients at risk , those over 70 and diabetics chronic smokers or smokers lung. Covid Boosters are for anyone over 18 with underlying health conditions and anyone over 60 .
Free contraception will be delivered to all over 17 once the contract is finalised by the HSE. We hope this will be the end of September 2022.
You will need your PPS number for this new service which is free.
Our services are treatment of acute illness , long term chronic care, dermatology, baby vaccines , maternal care, bloods tests, vaccines of many types, travel health , contraception , implanon , mirena coil in suitable patients, male health, sexual health and many more services .
We have another female doctor Dr Hynes , joining the practice with a wealth of experience in General practice and older age medicine .
History of Practice :
It feels like yesterday when I came to Tallaght originally in The Square Town Centre in 1994 . I had spent 3 years in Hospitals in Dublin , doing Paediatrics In Crumlin Obstertrics in the NMH , Accident and Emergency in Beaumount and Cardiology in Navan and working In Australia as a GP and Jeddah Saudia Arabia .
This was followed by Psychiatry Occupational Health in London .
I then did an alternative Medicine course to become a member of the Faculty of Homoepathy London , studying in Great Ormonde Street London for a year.
This as followed by a Year In Glasgow working as a doctor .
Married In !994 I came back to Ireland and an opportunity arose with a relative to work In Tallaght as a GP int The Square TC.
I also spent three years also as the Medical Doctor for St Brigids Hospital a Nursing home for the elderly in Brittas , Crooksling .
Then After the birth of my third child in 2003, I moved to Springfield to get more space and connect with the community of Tallaght , seeking whole Families to be a GP as I was trained to do on the ICGP Dublin Training scheme in 1990.
1999 trained and did exams in Occupational Health
After this General Practice in the Practice became busier .
We also provide Student Health to the nearby TU Dublin Tallaght for 6 months a year with help of 2 other doctors. This is rewarding as our young adults are the future of this country.
Dermatology is another special interest, completed exams in Practical Medical Dermatology in Cardiff University in 2020.
28 years later I am still trying to move with the times, Family Medicine is always changing and Covid 19 was a challenge but we were proud to support our patients especially the elderly by vaccinating them.
I am passionate about Tallaght , Its expanding , improving and the addition of Shamrock rovers across the road has given me a great lift, to hear the matches and fans some evenings and see the excitement on young kids faces with their Mum and Dads heading to the matches.
While I did an exam in Occupational Health in 1999, I reduced my work in this as General Practice was becoming busier. I do however provide Student Health to the nearby TU Dublin Tallaght for 6 months a year with help of 2 other doctors. This is rewarding as our young adults are the future of this country.

The practice is now serving the comunity of Tallaght and Clondalkin and outer areas. Our local Primary care services ( Public Health Nurse / Occupational Therapist Physiotherapists etc ) are in The Russell Building 10 minutes walk from us, we are 10 mins walk from Luas , and there is a bus stop at the side of our house .
I insist on keeping a space for parking for those with reduced mobility, Please call / email us and ask is it OK to park there .
